From Our Pastor

We now find ourselves on “The Other Side of the Cross”. We have experienced Psalm Sunday and the Triumphal Entry, the Last Supper, the pain and darkness of Good Friday and finally the Glory and Joy of Easter morning. What a rollercoaster ride for believers. So now what do we do that Easter is over and it’s a long way to Christmas? John 20: 21-22, Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit”. Jesus came to His disciples and charged them with a mission. Christ’s disciples, and that includes you and me, have been sent out into the world to bring the message of Jesus Christ to the entire world. Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit to help us, for this is no easy task. All we need to do is ask God for this help and be willing to share in God’s Word. All that you do will bring you closer to the cross, not further away. At the cross, you will find Jesus.

Second Opequon Presbyterian Church can be a place where you and your family can come to find the Good News of Christ and grow closer to God in a biblical and common sense approach. We are a community of believers who very deeply feel a commitment to Jesus and to each other. Come and worship and pray, we invite all to join us.

We support overseas mission through our prayers and financial benevolence.

We provide community support through special offerings.

We reach out to our community through our special events.

A worship service is the celebration of our Lord. It is a time when we come into God’s presence and praise Him. Each service is filled with music and teaching, joy and insight.

So we can sing it,

and tell it, and live it.

...Amen
